A Story That Sets the Scene

On Monday morning, the team walked into the office ready to tackle the week’s priorities. By Wednesday, new rules had arrived from senior leadership. By Friday, those rules had shifted again. Frustration simmered. Deadlines slipped. Conversations turned into complaints: “Why should we even bother? Everything will change again tomorrow.”

In the middle of this uncertainty, one manager chose a different path. Instead of piling on pressure, she paused. She admitted that the rules were changing, but promised her team two things: she would communicate updates quickly, and she would ensure they always knew what mattered most. By the end of the week, her team was calmer — not because the rules had stabilised, but because she had.

That’s the power of clarity. It doesn’t eliminate change, but it builds the trust and steadiness people need to keep moving.

👉 Reflect: When your team faces shifting priorities, do they look at the rules, or do they look at you?

Why Clarity Builds Trust

Clarity is not about having all the answers; it’s about having the right ones. It’s about removing confusion so people can do their best work.
